People management takes place on Thread’s mobile web platform. Sign in using your Thread email login.

To login:

  1. Navigate to threadlearning.com and select Login.
    - Administrators: will be directed to the people management area.
    - Supervisors: will be directed at the data collection screen, and manage student assignments via their own user profile page.

Supervisor Access to Manage Students and Staff in Thread

Once students are assigned to you by your organization’s Thread administrator, they will be listed on your own profile page and users can assign instructors to that student. 

To view your profile: 

  1. Login to Thread’s mobile site.
  2. Click the circle in the upper right-hand corner next to your name.
  3. Click View Profile (users can upload a profile image and edit personal data here). 

To manage your student list from your profile page:

  1. Click on a student's name to view their profile.
  2. In the "Instructors" section click Edit.
  3. Check all the instructors who need access to this student.
  4. Click Save Assignment.

Please note, all instructors should be assigned to Thread’s test student "B.F. Skinner." That student is there to help users experiment with Thread or practice using the system.

Admin Access to Students and Staff in Thread

  • Your supervisors do not have access to the "Students & Staff" page. 
  • You will assign students to your supervisors. 
  • Supervisors will click their own profile icon (upper right) to manage those students. Please read about the supervisor process above.

Administrators can add or remove instructors and students for the organization, and assign students to instructors. 

Associating Instructors with Students

 To link an instructor with their student list:

  1. Login to Thread’s mobile site.
  2. Select Students & Staff from the menu if not already on that page.
  3. Click an instructor’s name to view their profile.
  4. Click Edit in the "Assigned Students" section.
  5. Check all the students the instructor is working with.
  6. Click Save Assignment.

To link a student with their instructor list:

  1. Select Students & Staff from the menu if not already on that page.
  2. Click on a student’s name to view their profile.
  3. Click Edit in the "Instructor" section.
  4. Check all the instructors the student is working with.
  5. Click Save Assignment.

Adding New Users

To add a new student to the organization:

  1. Select Students & Staff from the menu if not already on that page.
  2. Click Students at the top to view the current student list. (This is where users will view the new student later).
  3. Click Add People.
  4. Choose One Student.
  5. Complete all fields including guardian information.
  6. Click Add Student at the bottom.
  7. Follow the instructions in the “Associating Instructors with Students” section above.

To add a new instructor to the organization:

  1. Select Students & Staff from the menu if not already on that page.
  2. Click Add People.
  3. Choose One Staff Member.
  4. Complete all fields including staff member role and personal data.
  5. Double check the staff member’s email address - this will trigger their invitation to set up a password for Thread access!
  6. Click Add Staff Member.
  7. Follow the instructions in the “Associating instructors with students” section above.

To check the status of Thread invitations: 

Once a new staff member has been added, they will receive an invitation via email to set up their own Thread password.

To view if the new user has set up their password:

  1. Select Students & Staff from the menu if not already on that page.
  2. Use the search bar (or scroll the list) to find the new staff member.
  3. On the far right under "Status," “pending” means the invitation has not yet been accepted, “active” means the invitation is complete.
